Kiranavali Vidyasankar - vocal
Usha Rajagopalan - violin
B Sivaraman - mrdangam
not sure who the kanjira player was
The song list was
1. Sahana Varnam (Adi, Vina Kuppayyar)
2. Janakiramana (Suddhaseemantini, Adi, Tyagaraja)
3. Pahi Srigirirajasute (Anandabhairavi, Rupaka, Syama Sastri)
4. Satruvilahi irum (Purvikalyani, Rupaka, Gopalakrishna Bharati)
5. Chetasri (Dwijavanti, Tisra Eka, Dikshitar)
6. Ambaparadevate (Rudrapriya, K. Chapu, Krishnaswamy Ayya)
7. Morabettite (Todi, M.Chapu, Tyagaraja)
8. Samayamide (Javali in Behag, Rupaka, Patnam S Iyer)
9. Neyyamuna (Ghanta padam, Misra Jhampa, Kshetragna)
10. Vanipondu (Kanada, Rupaka, Dharmapuri Subbarayar)
11. Tillana (Purnachandrika, Adi, Poochi Ayyangar)
Not a review but here are a few observations. I went in rather late, during the ending of the second song, Janaki Ramana. The next item was Pahi Srigiriraja (anandha bhairavi) and it was presented gracefully with lot of detail. I thought the kalapramanam was a tad slow. Poorvi Kalyani piece came next with alapana, kriti, neraval and swaram. Nereval and swaram were short but had depth. Chetasri was presented attractively, in the Brindamma style, and Ambaparadevate sounded bright. The Todi suite (main piece) was really excellent especially the song, neraval and swarams which were interesting without being overly dramatic – again, the vocalist presented it with the restraint of the Brinda style. The concert was rounded off with the two well-known javalis and the ghanta padam.
Overall an enjoyable concert, done with lot of musical clarity and thought. My only criticism would be that there wasn’t enough kalapramana variation between songs. Accompaniment was adequate, though the mrdangist seemed to drag the pace of songs and his instrument had sruti problems – probably due to the Arctic conditions at the MA mini hall.
An authentic representation of the nuanced and restrained Brindamma style, it was unfortunate that between Karthigai deepam and other concerts that day the turn-out was so poor.

Are you talking about the Krithi "morabettite madilona"? It is in the ragam Rupavati. It sounds like Todi in the poorvaangam, but it has Shatsruti Daivatam and Kakali Nishadam in the uttarangam.7. Morabettite (Todi, M.Chapu, Tyagaraja)
but please let me know if there is any other krithi with the same starting words, that's in Todi.
