Yes, nAlvaDi kRSNa rAjEndra is Krishnaraja Odeyar IV, who ruled between 1910 (I think) to 1940 AD.
nAlvaDi shrI krSNa rAjEndrara tAyE sadA pore -
Oh mother of King Krishnaraja 4th, do protect me always
The song is on pArvati, as seen by malayadhwaja pANDya sanjAte, chAmundESwari, gouri etc.
All the adjectives in the chiTTe swara sAhitya (sakala kalA nipuNa chatura dAtA etc) apply to the king, and not to the diety. Chamundi is referred as the mother of King Krishnaraja (with all the qualities described there).

kRShNarAjEndrara(nu), tAye! sadA pore.

When the subject is missing, it can defaut to the first person as ;
kRShNarAjEndrara tAye sadA pore [ennanu]
We can see such use routinely where the I/me is left out. An example from another HMB kriti would be - vidhIndranute vimale salahou vEda sAre vijayAmbike

How many songs have we not heard from court musician-composers where they ask the deity to protect their patron (Which ensures their protection as well

If it was solely a matter between HMB and the Goddess, why should the king make an appearance at all?

I recently heard Trichur Brothers sing this Varnam in a concert. They sang it exceptionally well. They sang the Mukthayiswaram in Keezh Kalam, Mukthayiswara Jathi in Thisra Keezh Kalam and then Mukthayiswara Sahithyam in Mel Kalam. It was fabulous. Can anyone post a recording of this varnam sung by any senior male vocalist like KVN or TNS? And also the notation?? I am just too eager to learn this.
Thanks
