I attended the second half of the programme, starting with the duet of Sangeetha Sankar & Kala Ramnath. I have posted a few pics at www.carnatica.net in the Season Pics gallery.
The crowning glory of the programme was undoubtedly the final jugalbandi between TNK mama & Rajam Amma. I respect and love TNK mama & his music too much and frankly have no qualification to even talk about his vidwat. Suffice it to say that I was lost in the sublime naadam and sowkhyam from two of the greatest violin stalwarts in CM & HM respectively.
Of the pairs that preceded the veterans, I was struck most by Kala Ramnath's sweet bowing. The others? Well, it was after all a show by one of the topmost violin families and they stuck to the high standards expected of them.
