Superb concert it was. From the varNam it was totally classical and enjoyable. All the kritis were rendered beautifully. The neraval and svarams at ' ADina ninnADavale gApADina ninnu pADavalegA' for the bhairavi kriti were good. The kalyANi kriti was awesome, and so was the srI rAgam AlApanai that followed. The kAmbhOji affair was totally classical and very moving. Neraval and svarams were sung at 'chAru sarashchandra kalAdharaNEna'. The mukhAri was completely handled with a lot of care. Thus it was very enjoyable. Neraval and svarams were rendered at 'ItulEni malaya mArutamuce gUDina kAvEri taTamandu'. Just as one was preparing for an RTP after the tODi piece, there came a viruttam to shut the doors for a possible pallavi. However, the viruttam was very elaborate and very very moving. As he began a tAnam after the viruttam, one was getting back the hopes of a pallavi. However, the tiruppugazh poured cold water on the hopes for a pallavi. Still there were some really innovative and moving neraval and svarams at 'thIdillAda mEviya sEvaR kodiyOnE" and anulOma pratilOma were done also.
The vocalist was flowing thro' the concert. He was very creative and made everybody sit up and enjoy. The accompanists were excellent. The violinst was very good and gave fitting replies to everything. The mrudangist was very good and played very accomadatively. His tani was nice and had a very elaborate kOrvai to finish

I also heard it is a superb concert. I missed because of rain and office.
Interesting note about Nada Inbam is-Mr.SVK never liked RTP and never allowed anyone singing RTP. He felt nothing is there in RTP which is not there in Trnity Kirtanams !!!!. So, Sanjay resorted to R T and neraval in Tiruppugaz. Sanjay's new style.... I may be requesting Mr.SVK's daugther to give a recording.
I expected the note from Mahesh.....!!!!. Thank god, I have one person, supported me in Ranjani & Gayathir review...

Instead of a RTP it was a VTP.rbharath wrote:Just as one was preparing for an RTP after the tODi piece, there came a viruttam to shut the doors for a possible pallavi. bharath,
If pallavi = neraval + swarams , you missed only rAgam not a pallavi.

rajesh, personally i find that there is a lot of difference between a Pallavi of an RTP and neraval svarams during a piece, even if it were to include trikalam and set in a not so popular talams. A pallavi is a pallavi. The latter is not.rajeshnat wrote:Instead of a RTP it was a VTP.rbharath wrote:Just as one was preparing for an RTP after the tODi piece, there came a viruttam to shut the doors for a possible pallavi. grsastrigal - Please send me a private note if you get hold of this recording. Amazing.
VTP! A new concept? Thirupugazh's talam is typically challenging, and doing trikalam, anulomam, pratilomam is equally challenging compared to pallavi.
