I went to hear the mallAdi + palaghAt raghu combination, but the mridangist padri as a substitute was an excellent choice too. The first 3 no's were on the lines of SSI rendition. Particularly the MMGowlai and mukhAri swaras were excellent . I could notice a slight restraint in tara sthAyi when Sriram sang the mukhAri alApanai ,perhaps it was more prominent to me as I always feel these brothers consistently delivery always an excellent or outstanding mukhAri. devagAndhari in my opinion is little too tricky for 2 singers to sing together and exhibit excellence ,I just felt the brothers could have slowed down a bit there. The shanmughapriya alApanai was delivered very well and the krithi was not that great
ravi sang an excellent shankArabharanam alApanai , it was quite detailed , the krithi rendition was also very good . The neraval "badari vana moola nAyika sahitha" was very good , the swaras for the first half were mediocre , but the brothers picked up and delivered a very good second half, perhaps the first half swara notes were little too straight did not have much gamakam.
The dhanyAsi alApanai of RTP was very good and the tAnam was lively too .The pallavi rendition were excellent . The malladi brothers even though they sang all the swaras in a nice sequence , the swaras were just too short , that too considering 2 of them are singing alternatively they could have sung more. All the swara rAgamAliga had violin returns . The rAgas in swara rAgamAliga between the head and tail of dhanyAsi were nAttaikurinji, hameerkalyAni , darbAri kAnadA?? + ?? . The last 2 fillers were just just good , possibly the kApi flavour got lost a little because of sivan's thamizh sAhityam which was not malladi cup of tea (rather coffee). I would have preferred if they had possibly just sung the swara rAgamAliga much more , possibly they could have cut the alApanai of shanmughapriyA.
The concert exactly ended at 09:30, there was no pavamAna or mangalam , is this possibly because NT's behAg?? can be considered as mangalam .I appreciate Music Academy for their punctuality in start time (7pm ), should they be so punctual to close at dot 09:30 PM ,that is ridiculous to me...
VaradarAjan was not at his best , he excelled only from main onwards . The day's hero was certainly padri ,his energetic play especially with all the first juicy full tosses of mmgowlai and mukhAri lifted mallAdi's concert to great heights .Udupa gave a great support , but just felt during tani he was bit struggling to match Padri's strokefull innings.Overall a very good concert with a major crib being shortened version of swara rAgamAligA in RTP.

As Rajesh has written, this was a very good concert by the brothers. The third raga in the pallavi swara ragamalika was kanada - stood out through the beautiful mini alapana of Sriram at the end a la Nedunuri style with a distinct nasal tone. The last one which Ravi sang was dwijavanti - very brief before switching back to dhanyasi.
The key disappointment was not seeing Raghu Sir performing . Varadarjan was good in patches. The Thani was good especially Satish Kumar.
I would have loved to hear more alapana in Mukhari (their Guru's Forte) coming in from the brothers. .
