A very classical concert. Very well planned concert.

All the AlApanais were done in a very scholarly and aesthetic fashion. Not an extra frill. The svarams were all in perfect alignment with the rAga bhavam. The concert was exceptionally handled by Smt Rama Ravi.

Smt Meera failed to reach the expectations on many occasions.

Sri Kumar was good. His playing was, as usual, very accomodative. Sri Sowrirajan was nice also.

to be frank the fiddle spoiled my mood and hence am not writing a detailed full review for the otherwise amazing concert. :(

I agree - it was not the violinist's best day. Howeer I still greatly enjoyed the concert. Tulasi Bilva was magnificent and so was Rama Nee Vadukonduko! Interesting songlist too...plenty of rare gems. Sakhi prana was a great wat to end.

I was at the concert
Since the music is great and from a seasoned artist, Meera could not do much harm. I shudder to think, what would happen to a concert , if such an artist were to accompany an upcoming musician.

Today at the music Academy Pappu Venugopal gave a scholarly lecture on Dattilam. The Tamiz isai sangam has started its 57th pann araichi and is indeed doing a very great service:)
