A fantastic concerts drenched with melody on a rainy day. Voice was in full form and the Thodi, a grand affair. Fine accompaniment from Narayanan well Supported by Udupa. KHandam for tani. Ganesh Prasad's bowing was sweet. Only grouse was the noise and smells from the canteen behind me...

hmm .. while I am sure some will argue there are lots of differences between thodi and dhanyasi or kedaragowlai and surati, I think the impact to the listener is lost.

I am still a fan of the traditional concert structure which I feel was perfected by Smt MLV. This is where the ragas for a concert are chosen so that they don''t clash with each other that the pre-main is often in a prati madhyama raga and the main is in a sudha madhyama raga. Also, there is a mix of different talas throughout the concert.

All in the same concert.... The artiste? A guy named Ariyakudi Ramanuja Iyengar. Impact to the listener lost? I think not... It's all in the mind, both of the listener as well as performer.
