Vocal: Kum. Nivedita Narayanan
Violin: Smt. R.Vidya
Mridangam: Delhi Shri Raja Subramaniam

1. Sami ninnekori - Shankarabharanam varnam
2. Shri Ganapathini - Saurashtram, preceded by 'Kariraja vadanundu' - this was announced to be a 'dvipadai' from Saint Thyagaraja's Prahalada Bhakti Vijayam
3. Brochevarevarura - Khamas
4. Gnana mosagarada - Purvikalyani (with alapana, neraval and kalpanaswarams)
5. Samagana priye - Anandabhairavi
6. Kshanameva Ganyamanye - Bowli
7. Kapali - Mohanam (with alapana, kalpanaswarams and tani)
8. Palisamma muddu sharade - Karnataka Devagandhari, preceded by the Ugabhoga 'Varaveda purana'
9. Vallikkanavan perai - Kavadi Chindu

An artiste to watch out for. She sang with a lot of bhava and involvement. I also liked the fact that she took the pains to give the audience background info on some songs. Overall, an excellent concert.

raghs,
Nice that you went to a fellow forumite's concert. Nivedita comes across as a helpful and knowledgeable young person in her posts. Good to hear that she gave an excellent concert.
Of course, we eagerly look forward to her blossoming into a top notch performer...

Apt choice, considering the saurAShTra kRti is also from Prahlada Bhakti Vijayam

What is a "dvipadai"? Samagana Priye is a really beautiful composition, but I haven't heard many people sing it post-GNB. All the best, Nivedita!

Thanks, bilahari! A 'dvipadai' is a verse with a specific number of kuril-s (short vowels) and nedil-s (long vowels) in each line.
