Thanks meena. Perhaps our ever-reliable rshankar or arasi could help with the translation?

pallavi:
The word attaruNam can mean 'immediately 'or 'at that moment'. While the first meaning can fit here too, at the end of the song, the second meaning alone applies. abayam koDuttu=giving protection; ANDaruL=take care of me with your grace.; ammai appA!=one who is my mother and father!
a.pallavi:
PS addresses the one who takes care of bhaktAs (bhakta paripAlakanE! parandAmanE! (Vishnu!)
pARkaDalil=in the milky ocean; paLLi koNDa=one who sleeps ; padmanAbhanE!=one who has a lotus sprouting out of his navel;
irangi=showing pity unto me

caraNam:
uttama piRavi aLittAi=you gave me noble birth (as a human); UnamillAda=with no impediments; uDalum aRivum koDuttAi=body and mind you gave.
eLLattanaiyum=even that tiny amount as of a grain of sesame seed; nanRi illEnE!=gratitude I don't have.
paranda aruL=your all pervading grace; attanaiyum=all of it; nAn maRandEne!=I did forget;
baktiyum illaiyE=neither do I have bhakti; citta Suddiyum illai!=nor have a pure heart;
koDiya pAvi AnAlum=even though I am a great sinner; uDal viTTAvi piriya, tudikkum attaruNam=while at that moment when my life (Avi) leaves, departs (piriya); uDal=my body. When life leaves this body and I call for you, at that time, take under your protection this sinner!

Prashant, a beautiful song, and you must have been moved by it as much as I was when it was rendered....

Exclamation marks help a great deal in understanding the meaning of songs.
Addressing the gods is a common thing in a song. Without exclamations, they can complicate one's understanding of the song. paripAlakanE without the ! can also be misunderstood as 'he alone' or 'he himself'. With ! marks for forms of address, we can easily go on to the rest of the song, in my view. Ravi, Rajani and others, please say what you think about this....
