RK Shriram Kumar
Trichy Sankaran (Mrudangam)
???? (Ghatam)

Kamalakshi – Manirangu Varnam – Misra Jhampa – Tiger Varadachariar
Sree Nathadi – Mayamalavagowla – Adi – Deekshitar (S)
Innum Oru Sthalam – Simhendramadhyamam – Rupakam – GKB – (RS)
Koluvamaregada – Thodi – Thyagaraja – Adi – RNST
RTP – Kalyanavasantham – Adi
Tukkadas
Mangalam

Some refreshing additions to the repertoire especially the varnam in Manirang. Alaapana in Thodi was excellent but Unni would do well to sing with an open throat in higher octaves. Swara kalpana was slightly repetitive at times. No trikaalam/tisram in the Pallavi.

RK Shriramkumar was brilliant as usual but his fingering was sometimes off the mark. He had composed the pallavi Trichy Sankaran was fantastic although audio was quite loud. Khandam featured in the tani and 2 avartha korvai from idam was played at the end.

The word pronounciations were so loose (no azhuttam) making it difficult to understand what he was singing, at times.

At times? Oh...
"refreshing additions to the repertoire", sure sounds like it... What was the sAhitya for the pallavi?

Saravanan I suppose you are referring to the varnam - I agree that the articulation was very queer for that piece but Unni seems to have improved on this front overall. Some of the other pieces and the neraval in particular were better than I've heard in the past.

Pallavi line - let's see if I can get this right - Vasanta Mitra Kamare Avaman Kalyana Prada...

More likely that your hearing skills have "improved" after nearly a month of music...
