He said it is not graha bhedam but graha swaram.
He demonstarted Graha swaram in the song

TMKrishna announced the ragas which were not easy.

Crowd is full hall and (some standing & sitting ) must be around 600-700 people (total).
I found lots of youngsters and offcourse Bangalore CM VIPs. It was video taped. I went late
and left before thani (long distance travel) and could not get a seat and managed one.
Concert started 15 min late at 6.45pm

Those who attended please give your expr?

My liking : I have not heard subrammanyaya namsate in a concert , so I liked it. I am not coming for the game,
comparing a recent kamboji presentation in blore. As usual TMKrishna blasted in the kamboji neraval finale.
Swarams were shortened. I like neraval and it came much much late and there was only one neraval , if I am correct.
I like sankarabarnam at any position. I liked Vinabheri song. It was a good concert. He proved once again that he is a
perfectionist.

Soumya, svapna, those who attended ... any RTP . If you were there could you please complete the list, any errors..
At 850PM thani started. At what time concert ended.

Continuing the list, the tani lasted for nearly 25 min. It was brilliant, which is all I'm qualified to say about percussion.. And after that,

9. Jamboopate - Yamunakalyani - Tishra Eka
10. Ramachandram[Nottuswaram] - Shankarabharanam - Eka
11. Maamava pattaabhiraama - Manirangu - Mishrachaapu

He wrapped up shortly after 9.30.

Just one small thing - According to Krishna, Karnataka Devagandhari and Abheri are not the same - Abheri, as in the Sampradaya Pradarshini, has Shuddha dhaivatam, and that is what he sang yesterday. The usual version [as in Nagumomu] with the Chatushruti Dhaivatam is Karnataka Devagandhari...

As for my experience, there is no point in me telling anything about a TMK concert. I adore just about everything that he sings...

Is the Thematic concert happening every year in Bangalore during Jan ?
Shankarabharanam twice in a concert ?
He requested not to record his concert, but it was video taped.. Is it with his permission... I asked just like that..as you know Iam the aggrieved by TMK's modesty !!!!

Kambodhi-Subramhanyaya Namasthe-is also not heard recently like MaRi MaRi in MA.. Must be a good concert..

Even nagumOmU was actually set to AbherI (shuddha daivatham) and it was Musiri Shri Subramanya Iyer who first sang it in the form that is currently popular [with the chatusruthi daivatham]. Dikshitar's vInAbherI and pancAshatpIta rUpiNI are shining examples for kritis in abheri and k.devagandhari.

No, the festival is not held in Bangalore every year. The previous two editions were in Chennai, and I don't know what the themes were...

He asked for recordings not to be done, unless prior permission had been obtained.. I assumed that the organisers HAD obtained his, since they have been video-taping all concerts of the series..

I don't know if the Shankarabharanam of the nottuswaram can actually be counted as another Shankarabharanam. I mean, it is so different - not the 'classical' Shankarabharana at all. Just plain notes based on the western major scale. And any way, most nottuswarams are based on this scale, and since nottuswarams are a speciality of Dikshitar, I thought it was a nice idea to include that in the concert...

Hi,

TMKrishna sings song like O rangasayee , Rama gada sudha or now sree dakshinamoorthe that is normally taken as main song (with RNS treatment ) as the first song. O Rangasayee and Rama gada in a different occasion in Blore. And he delivers an excellent swara prasthara in it.
I have observed this impresses the audience more and keeps in his seat expecting similar items. Sometime I have seen artist sing pancha rathna krithis. Any other tradition?

Normally it is a varnam in others concerts to set the voice.

Any thoughts?

He sang a full swara raga sudha at Cleveland 2007 as the first piece, except for ragam.
