Hi All
For those who are interested:
I have uploaded the interview of TM Krishna broadcasted by Worldspace radio, after seeking their permission. I had to remove the songs played during the interview due to copyright considerations.

Hi thanks for the recording.
It is a wonderful narration about TMK and his works like ( coffee table book , sampradaya pradishini). The discussion of performer vs artist is interesting. And he being a perfectionist is actually coming from his first guru and not semmagudi right! I am not sure and that is what I understood. His respect for MSS is very explicit in the interview while narrating the MSS, SSI incident. The voice culture swaras , a small piece of koluvi in bairavi ... good. I never know that he is a varnam specialist (It is surprising that he sometime skips varnam in some concerts). A great person like him, I wonder what his accomplishments will be in 20 years from now.

Great interview...good to get a glimpse of the articulate person behind the musician's on-stage persona...CM definitely needs such spokespersons. Also interesting to hear him being interviewed by someone he knows very well. This has many pluses, of course, but also some negatives - Ravikiran seemed to pretty much know what TMK wanted to tak about...a neutral person wouod probably have thrown in some more "masala questions"!
Nice of Worldspace to have shared it here! I missed the program thanks to travel...

good work shruthi . the channel seems to be improving day by day. with more music in its repository i am sure it will become the best carnatic music channel.
it was nice to listen to a shishya interview his guru.
i agree with vijay that it has its pluses and minuses but to me the pluses far outweighed the minuses.
because the shishya knows so much more about the guru compared to any other interviewer...especially the things about varnams...was very nice.
good work ravi kiran and keep it up shruti.

Yes. This was truly a fantastic interview indeed covering every facet of his life. I thought that the only part Ravikiran missed asking and which Krishna missed mentioning was about his wife Sangeetha and their children !
(Or perhaps I had misssed out on that as I listened at one stretch at around 2.00 am after coming midway from "Yamini" the dusk to dawn series of programs at IIM Bangalore on Republic Day eve , struggling to keep the midnight wink at bay!)
Specificaly this is a must hear interview for learners of Carnatic Music. It is amazing that Krishna knew 30 to 40 Varnams by his 12th year! The advise to youngsters about practising just about enough so as not to overstrain the voice is very true and correct.
The questions were well asked & ofcouse pre planned. One can clearly make out that these were not spontaneous. However Krishna's answers were candid , well thought out and had some interesting anecdotes, especially about one moment of his lifetime when he did not have a recorder on hand to capture the magic of Semmangudi Mama, MS and himself singing together at Mama's house !

About YAMINI(night) you can find more info under this link...
http://www.iimb-yamini.com/2008
It was a wonderful full night event, except for the fact that all the concerts/programs were for only 2hrs.
The Dance program was for 1hr 30mins.

There was a dance item ...which i am no expert to comment on that.
I didn't note down the entire concert details...The concerts were really interactive..
Also forgive me as i am not an expert in quoting the Krithis the way others are doing...
