Can anyone tell about these ragas?Reported in review of Prarthana Rao concert today.?

hamsavinOdini is derived from ShankarAbharaNam ArO: s r2 g3 m1 d2 n3 S- ava:S n3 d2 n3 d2 m1 g3 r2 s. The late TM tyAgarAjan composed the music for the nArAyaNa tIrtha tarangam, "SharaNam bhava karuNAmayi" in this rAga. sarasvatIM bhagavatIM of oDeyar is another lilting piece in this rAga.

I have not heard of the rAga vEdavalli. Maye others may be bale to expound on irts lakshaNa,

because, our raaga expert is convalescing after surgery,I mean Ramaraj ,somebody else should take up the pleasant yet,difficult task of explaining raagas like Vedavalli. we very fondly hope that ramaraj will be back soon,II have seen people coming backwith renewed vigour and energy after surgery .....gobilalitha
