A nice sabha in a hall with right acoustics at kotturpuram . Missed the first , for sure it was sAveri. Vijayashiva continued with a rare poochi krithi in madhyamAvati , his rendition was excellent , particularly his neraval was very detailed and extremely impressive .The next varAli was perhaps vintage DKJ presentation , the back to back neraval was certainly unexpected.
The day's best to me was his cakravAkham alApanai ,vijayashiva showed his class where the alApanai patterns was almost complete open throated rendition. The Krithi in cakravAkham was very good , the swaras were just good.
Vijayashiva's rendition of cintAmani was grand especially there was a lot of bhAvam especially in the lines "enamma entho bhaaramaa" where he raises his voice a little higher , he just captures lot of my attention there. The next tilang ?? of PD was very good. The sedateness of shankarabharanam was presented beautifully by vijayashiva , his rendition was perfect in this difficult MD masterpiece. The neraval was built very slowly and was excellent . He came up with a very good round of swaras , a clean copybook shankarAbharanam .
Tani was very good , nArayanan's play suited more well when the rendtion was fast , certainly in keezh kAlam could have better . Smt vijayalakshmi was just good , her play was more good in slower numbers , for mEl kaalam her bowing appeared slightly squeaky at some places. Overall a very good to excellent concert.
I had to leave after that , some one else can fill the thukkadA list.

Rajesh,
Yes, rAma rAma is often heard in tilang.
Needless to say, partasArathi in madhyamAvati is a favorite. VVSadagopan popularized it by singing this. He also made a record of it (gramaphone plate).
Wish I had heard the cakravAkam kruti too. Would have been nice, listening Vijay Siva singing the rAgA too....
