The concert was one of the best concerts i have evr attended.it began in the reethigowla varnam which was sung in two speeds.then came the wonderful kamalamanohari for kanajadala .the neraval and swarakalpana were great.the alapana of gaanamurthi displayed the beauty of the ragam in all dimensions which opened to the wonderful krithi of thyagaraja.the next composition in atana was a wonderful number 'madhura madhura' then came the ahiri composition of syama sastry which was indeed a pleasure to listen to.the main piece was kalyani.i have never heard such wonderful rendition of kalyani.i dont know how to tell you al..but that kalyani made me speechless
it was toooo good.the krithi pankaja lochana was a treat to the rasikas.the thaniavarthanam by sri narendran is worth mentioning.the salagabhairavi composition of thyagaraja'padavini..'was really good.the rtp in hindolam was also fabulous.the ragamalika swarams were done wonderfully.
the javali in bhag nirupamana samini of ramanathapursam srinivasa iyengar was a sppthing number.the tirrupugazh in surati was also good.on the violin was sri sridharan who gave a wonderful accompaniment to the main artiste he was also great.
the festival feautured many stalwarts like smt.sowmya,sri o s arun, sri maharajapuram srinivasan,sri shashank,sri lalgudi g j r krishnan & smt. vijayalakshmi and sri t n seshagopalan
even shashank sir's flue recital was really good.the main effort was bindumalini [i could not make to the other concerts due to my board exams..bt did not want to miss sri t n s' concert so i could not give a review of the other concerts]
PLEASEFORGIVE ME FOR ANY MISTAKES IN THE REVIEW

well the concert went on for three hours and odd..
the pallavi was quite long..bt the swarakalpanas done in the various ragas were not very elaborate...
they were really good...on the whole it was a wonderful concert.
the rtp went for 40 mins i think...
