dear rasikas, i've been trying to find the lyrics and for the song sonnadai seydida saahasama kiliye. I have heard the Bombay sisters sing it and Mandolin Shrinivas play it. unfortunately I'm not sure of who the composer is either. please try to send me the lyrics (and notation if possible).

thank you

Lji,

A few corrections:

P: kaNNanE nIyum murai kaDandiDalAmA (krishNA, how can your behavior be so inappropriate that is crosses the bounds of impudence?)

C2: enna tuNiccaluDan

C3: ennennavO Solli ennai mayakki viTTu annam ....
kannam vaiitu endan karuttil pugundAr(n)aDI...

C1: annavan (avan). Though mannavan fits, note that he uses mannavan later.

C2: kanni mADam tanil kAvalgaLai mIRi

For those who like to write down the songs (though in singing and speaking you don't hear the difference), here are the ra and Ra corrections:

P: muRai

C1: taDumARi; kadaRugiREn

C2: mIRi; enRAraDi

C3: veRukka

I think there is a controversy if this was a composition of Mayavaram Sri Viswanatha Sastry and tuned by Sri GNB, or a composition of Sri GNB himself.

I have heard that it is GNB's own.

I have a distinct feeling that G.B.Rajasekhar, GNB's son, mentioned, in one of his posts, that the composition in question was not by his father.

Lji,

You are correct. But I was not sure if he was categorical about it.

Refer to post #17 (two-thirds the way down) at http://www.rasikas.org/forums/viewtopic.php?id=302 where GB Rajasekhar implies that this song is indeed his father's.
