Young Amrita Murali and her team stunned the audience with a matured yet sprited performance in their concert for Nadopasana in memory of (Late.S.V. Krishnan As can be seen,. the concert was packed with weighty songs, in Rakthi ragas and hence their presentation without causing a dull moment was creditable. To a few Rasikas the concert appears to have brought nostalgic memories of the great concerts of stalwarts in the by-gone years.
Amritha has evolved her own style and her manoharma at her age is remarkable, which was very evident while rendering krutis in Khamas, Dhanyasi and Sankarabaranam especially the bhava in neraval in sankarabaranam which made the audience visualize the great Guru . This artist should be taken note of, by discerning Rasikas, as she could be looked for authentic Patantara. She is sure to reach great heights in the realm of carnatic music .
Both the supporting artists proved the leniage to which they belong and are sure to be overwhelmingly sought after by other vocalists soon.

Thanks for the review. Amritha Murali is one of the young artistes who are talented very smart & very strong in fundementals. I like the trend among VocalistsI esp. women who are upholding the lofty traditions of the past greats. I am looking forward to her reaching great heights & restoring vocal music to greater heights based on CLASSICISM. Incidentally I am not related to her & also not her agent! VKV

Rengarajan, thanks for your review. I wish I could travel many thousand miles to catch events like this.
To add to Sri VKV's point, it is amazing how some of these young talents can seamlessly switch between vocal music and playing an instrument at will... I noticed that Amritha Murali had an engagement just the day before as an accompanist.
It is also very nice to note that Sri B. Sivaraman is making rapid strides towards becoming a top-class mridangist (like his brother)... There is something very appealing about Sri TKM's accompanying style, that he has totally imbibed.
I have not heard Sri. L. Ramakrishnan before. Whose disciple is he?

I learn that Amrita has undergone only workjshops on Pallavi under the stalwarts Smt.Vedavalli and Shri. RanganathanJayashri wrote:Does anyone know who Kum. Amritha is learning from now? I know she had learned from Smt. Rama Ravi, Sri Kedaranathan, Smt. Meera Kedaranathan, Smt. R. Vedavalli, and Sri Chengelpet Ranganathan.
