Dear all

With the TRS thread containing the vocal RTPs, let us have a look at the RTPs from instruments. Some artists who regularly have RTPs in their concerts are:

1. TN Krishnan
2. M Chandrasekharan
3. Ravi Kiran
4. RK Suryanarayanan
5. U Srinivas
6. Lalgudi G Jayaraman
7. Chittibabu
8. L Subramaniam, L Shankar and L Vaidyanathan (Solo or Trio)
9. Ganesh Kumaresh

Does anyone have concerts of the violin trio (i.e LV-LS-LS)? They supposedly took the CM violin world by storm if Subbudu is to be believed.

In the 60s S.Balachander used to play Ragam - Mela Ragamamlika tanam - pallavi. Ragam used to be Sankarabaranam followed by tanam in 72 mela ragas ( kanakAngi to rasikapriya) followed by a Pallavi. The entire concert would consist only of the above as this lasted for 3 hrs plus.
Coolkarni any chance of uploading them ?

Speaking of RTPs,

I have an RTP of MSG/Narmada played in Behag. I personally found it rather disappointing (Narmada inherited some of the Master's skill but where on earth did she pick up the "bull in china shop" savagery I would like to know)

And regarding the LS LV LS trio, I had no idea they were considered that great. They're the kind of artistes I would listen to if I had nothing to do and someone gave me a free ticket for an afternoon performance at a place with a nice bar within walking distance so I could pop over for a pint of the good brew, but otherwise I would rather sit at home and watch reruns of "Fawlty Towers".

I wouldn't mind uploading but I have it in Audiocassette form. If some kind soul in Singapore is willing to convert it to MP3 please let me know as my tape recorder has reached the point of no return. The last rites were duly conducted last week. If not the upload will have to wait until I can purchase a new, functional tape recorder (They are really bad quality manufacture these days. This one (Sony) barely lasted six months while my previous one, an ancient Panasonic, lasted 8 years).
