Could someone please give the above for "kandhaa nee oru mazhaivaasee"? Audio is available from Nithyashree (Jaya TV MMU 2007) in manjunath's folder (I think). Thanks in advance. :)

Yes I think so. I have made a humble attempt to write the lyrics down (probably riddled with several other errors like that).

I have not heard this song, but going by the lyrics posted by Vocalist, I have made some corrections by 'feel'. I may be way off the mark here.

kandA nI oru malaivAsI
gandham tavazhum nalla sukhavAsI

Lord murugA (kandA) you (nI) are a (oru) resident (vAsI) of hills (malai)! You live in comfort (sukhavAsi) engulfed (tavazhum) as you are with the fragrance of good (nalla) perfume (gandham – sandal paste).

tandaiyin kOlamO paradEsi
tattai SivakAmi ammaiyO tillai nagarvAsI

Your father's (tandayin) appearance (kOlamO) is that of a religious mendicant (paradESi), while your mother SivakAmi, whose speech is like that of a parrot (tattai) is a resident (vAsI) of the divine city (nagara) of cidambaram (tillai).

sOdaranO kuzhikkaraivAsI
mandahAsa mAmanO tirumalaivAsI
andam migu mAmiyO SenkamalavAsI
nI enda vAsi AnAlum bhaktarai(um) nESi

You brother (sOdaranO) is a resident (vAsI) of kuzhikkarai [1]. Your ever smiling (mandahAsa) maternal uncle (mAmanO) is a resident (vAsI) of the hills of tirupati (tirumalai – the divine hillock). And your comely (andam migu – filled with beauty) maternal aunt (mAmiyO) resides (vAsI) in a red (Sen) lotus (kamala). Now, where ever (enda) you choose (AnAlum) to reside (vAsi), please ensure that you love/care for (nESi) your devotees (bhaktarai).

[1] I am not aware of a vinAyakar temple in kuzhikkarai. All I am aware of is the temple on the banks of the lofty gartA tIram – viSvanAthar and annapUrNI. I am sure the temple has a sannidhi to vinAyaka, but not aware of a separate temple. Maybe I have interpreted the name of the place incorrectly…

gandam kamazhum: the smell of sandalwood pervading. tavazhum also works.
tattai SivakAmi: she herself is beautiful like a parrot--not tattai mozhiyAL (of speech)
kuLakkarai vAsi: one who resides by a kuLam (pond); you often find GaneSa by a village pond--kuLakkarai piLLaiAr.
Senkamalam is red lotus. Also SemmaiyAna kamalam=beautiful

When I asked about the composer of this wonderful composition Nithyasree said that she got the lyrics somehow and she sang it.Does anyone here have an idea about who could be the composer of this wonderful composition...?
