Another wonderful performance in Toronto - true maestro, in a class of his own.

Shankarabharanam - Atta tala Varnam, Janani Ninnuvina in Reetigowlai, Aparadhamula - Lathangi, Sumasayaka - Karnataka Kapi, RTP in Vagadeeshwari and some end compositions.

An artist whose instrument is an extension of body and mind. An enjoyable experience indeed.

He is there at the top no doubt. There is a posting of shashank playing chakravakam on sangeethapriya, quite spellbinding. BUt I have been rather disappointed in the concerts I have attended. In the last concert that I did attend, he played Vijayanagari (vijayambike vimalambike of HMB) for 1 hr 30 mins, of which swaras were for over 30 mins! Many of you may appreciate but it was overdose for me.

Thanks matterwaves for the upload. I don't remember listening to a chakravAka from Shashank.

I really enjoy the unhurried pace in Shashank's AlApanas.

Thanks matterwaves. I'm enjoying the alapana right now. Have been on a Chakravaham/Ahir Bhairav spree for the last 10 days.
