In an earlier post ,I had showered deserving praises on Sifas for their wonderful efforts to propogate music and dance and Singapore would become the musical hub of the world soon.this belief has again been strengthened bySYAMA.They presented the entertaining musical PRAHLAD.several children and youths took part and sang to their hearts content..

performers Studentsof Mrs Gowri Gokul,Adhitya Satyanarayana,Raji Shekar,V shankaranarayanan,Dr.Y.Bhagavati, nandita hariFreelance artistsPBMadhavan,Pavan Rngac har,Sum itra Srinivasan,RasikaViswanath
dance,MrsSitaravammaSandrasegaran, padams sung byBhagya murthyandRaji shekar.
.Orchestra,flute;SureshThyagarajan,VIOLIN Adhitya satyanarayana,DIvyasri,veena Ramkumar,Anita kumaran, mridangam Subramanian, ghatam Prasanna.
They presented kritis from St Thyagaraja Opera Prahaladbhakti vijayam.nowka charitram,Sitarama vijayam all the participants consisting of budding aspirants boys and girls . sang in perfect shruti unison, raaga, bhava, laya and utmost devotion . their enthusiasm was remarkable . without detracting from the merit of other children and youth, I must make special mention of the brilliant rendering of "e nati momu in bhairavi byPBMdhavan,"eti janmamidi by Pavan Rangachar.May lord Rama AND ST THYAGARAJA shower their choicest blessings on them gobilalitha

It is heartening to hear about the efforts put up by the youngsters in staging the programme.Kudos to the teachers and other elders who guided them.

Considering that it was posted by a 75 year old gentleman I felt allowances shouuld be made.have attempted to punctuate the same piece ...

BTW, to correct a few mistakes in the earlier posts, only songs from the 'prahalada bhakthi vijayam' were performed. Nauka Charitram and Sitarama Vijayam songs were not performed. Incidentally, I understand that Sitarama Vijayam songs do not exist now!

I attended the show as well and enjoyed it. Varali and Bhairavi, as mentioned by GBL, were really outstanding and moving. I also enjoyed the pieces in Devagandhari and Reethigowla. Padhyams were nicely sung all around and violinists were great. And jananee, great job with the lighting!
