Dear Rasikas,
There is a function on Sunday at Narada gana sabha celebrating 100th anniversay of Palani when a web site dedicated to PALANI will be inagurated by Sri. Balamurali Krishna. I will give the address tomorrow. It starts with a thani by Palani when you log on & has interesting things like interviews with Guruvayoor dorai, Trichy Sankaran, T.K.Murthy & others about PALANI. You can also take a look at www.vidvan.com where you can download stuff. HIS student K.S.Kalidas has a down loadable section on how to listen to Thanis & analysis of PALANI'S thani. vkv

My sincere and grateful thanks to music lovers and connoisseurs, Semmu and vkv3034, for opening up to people like me, those unknown paths for a treasure house of rhythmic grandeur. I shall cherish the pleasure of listening to the great laya masters.

in yesterday's function the first thani which they relayed (palani anna's one along with kothandarama iyer for a gnb AIR recital i believe) i was surprised and to an extent disapointed that even though an excellent clear version of that thani is available, the one they played yesterday was hardly audible :( and that there was a disturbing sound all along that thani :(

did anyone notice this?? am very sorry guys , just said what i had in mind..... i know its very easy to sit in an a/c room and comment about this and that and say lottu losukku,, but really the difficulties involved in organising such a function and making it a grand success is no mean task... but still in my opinion they could have played a more audible and a clear version....

That misra jhampa thani was out of the world though .....

I as well request Mannarkoil J. Balaji sir to look into the possibility of uploading the other pieces i.e., GNB's Manasuloni with Palani Anna and MMI's Kandan Karunai with Palani Anna so that we get transported to heaven every now and then. May God bless you all with health and happiness.

Dear pgaiyar,
You can visit my web site www.vidvan.com & click on Palani's picture &download K.S.Kalidas's 3 part description about Palani which has at least some of the Thanis you are interested in with explanations of them by K.S.Kalidas. A masterly exposition of what you have correctly described as being transported to heaven. vkv
