The accomps for Ramaseva Mandali concert were Patri Satish Kumar on the Mridangam and Vaikkom Gopalakrishna on the Ghatam. Of course, his daughter, Vijayalakshmi, provided Violin Support.

Sowmya,
Two top violinists named their daughters Vijayalakshmi!
While the daughter of Lalgudi is known by that name, TNK's daughter is known as Viji.

A brilliant concert indeed. Was listening a 1972 duet concert by TNK and MC yesterday. It had me thinking as to how wonderful it would be to have the century's carnatic violin trinity - TNK, LGJ, MSG perform together. It would be a spectacular union of 3 schools of violin playing. I can't even begin to think of the exalted plane which an RTP in such a concert would transport me to. A dream concert of sorts. But I guess it's merely wishful thinking. Ok, then how about getting Viji, Vijayalakshmi and Narmada to play on a single stage? Wonder if someone can convince them to perform together!

Well, the three schools are quite distinct in their styles and achieving a good blend would not be that easy.

I agree their styles are vastly different. But if carnatic and hindustani artistes can collaborate to produce harmony, then these mahanubhaavs surely can too. It'll be beauty in diversity.
