Palani Shri.Subramania Pillai's Aradhana was observed on 28th May 2008 at Narada Gana Sabha Mini Hall from 9 am. to 12.45.

The function was organised by Palani Shri.M.Subramania Pillai Trust.
The following artistes performed during the Aaradhana :-

Ms. Amruta Murali -Sri Nathadi Guruguho and Thyagarajaya Namasthe
Geetharthamu was sung by a Disciple of Durga Venkatesh (Disciple of DKJ) of Dubai. I forgot her name. But one link is there she is the younger sister of Brinda Manickavasagan who sang the prayer for Palani Birth Centenary Function on 11-5-2008.
Next Mr.Raveendran Sang Nammina Variki to the accompaniment of Amruta Murali and Mannarkoil J.Balaji
After this Visalur Shri.Gurumurthy rendered Charana Kamalalayathai and Lalithe Maam Pahi daya
to the accompaniment of Amruta Murali and Madirimangalam Swaminathan
Ayanavaram Gurumurthy who sang next gave excellent Thevarams to the accompaniment of Kandadevi vijayaraghavan and Krishnamachari (Disciple of Ramanathapuram M.N.Kandaswamy and brother of P.B.Sreerangachari)

The highlight of the aradhana was the surprise element.
Guruvayur Dorai Sir sang to the accompaniment of Amruta Murali, A.V.Ragguprasad, B.S.Purushothaman for one song and for the next song Kallidaikurichi Sivakumar accompanied on the mridangam.
Dorai Mama sang Paridana Michide and Nenarunchinanu and also a thiruppugazh.

The last person to sing was a young singer from Pune named Ms.Varsha Ramann who is under the tutelage of Shashikiran and Chitravina Ganesh sang Sangeetha Shastra Gnanamu and drew wide applause from the audience and appreciation from none other than Sangita Kalanidhi M.Chandrasekaran.

This was followed by a violin Duet :

Dorai Sir and BSP Played an excellent thani and he played terriffic patterns in Thisram and his final korvai was a fitting finale to the grand thani.

The function ended with an excellent lunch with deliciour Sakkarai Pongal, Ven Pongal, Medu Vadai, Sambar, Curd Rice and Pickles.

The audience turn out was very encouraging. Chengleput Ranganathan, Ashok Ramani, Nagai Soundararajan (mridangist), Trichur Narendran, K.V.Prasad, Jayanthi Mohan (AIR artiste and vocalist), Shivashankar Reddy (Disciple of Ramanathapura M.N.Kandaswamy) Mr.Hariharan of Pammal Sangeetha Sabha ( a composer),Chokiah Narayanan (Well Wisher and rasika) among the prominent faces in the audience.

Gynana Vinayakane is in Gambhira Nattai and not in Jaganmohini.

Thanks for the korvai. If I'm not mistaken, when Dorai sir usually plays that korvai for the third time, he takes the last 2 10 beat patterns and plays 3 10 beats in second speed thisram. Did he do that?
