Dear members of Rasika forum

Though it is well over 15 years ago the sweet strains of carnatic music first sounded in this beautiful country of NZ, a formal organisation NZCMS was set up by a group of enthusiasts in the year 1998. This week we are celeberating the 10th annivarsary of this organisation. From a mere group of people, this organisation has grown with membership of over 300 with about 15 teachers imparting music education to young and old alike. We are recongnised by the Madras University as a "Distant Learning Centre" for carnatic music offering certificate and diploma courses thru the teaching arm of the society " Centre of Learning".

Here is a link to our organisation....

Please join us in these celeberations and if you are unable to, please do send your good wishes for a glorious future.

We need the blessings of all of you in spreading this wonderful music in this beautiful land.

Sam

Dear SAM,
CONGRAGULATIONS & BEST WISHES FOR CONTINUED SUCCESS. I know how difficult it is to do what you are successfully accomplishing for our culture and music. It is highly appropriate your family is continuing to spread & educate the rest of the world & the new generations of Indians. Regs, V.K.Viswanathan

Sam,

Amazing work in distant New Zealand. And to think that it is now 10 years since you and your group of friends had started.

BTW , there is a Vidvan Swaminathan who is performing on the violin. Was curious to know if it was you ? :)

Sam Swaminathan Sir,

Can you treat us Rasikas with the recordings? Singapore is getting popular with Rasikas, so will we like New Zealand.

It may not be out of place to let members know that Sam was once an integral part of the Chennai Theatre Circuit and is also known for being a Stand Up Comedian.
So Sam , If you see them start rolling with laughter, you could always switch over ....

Sam and NZCMS good luck with the program. We get to see most of the India-based artistes in Sydney a couple of weeks later!

Best wishes to NZCMS!
Sam,
Keep them laughing if there is going to be a comedy routine. As for the violin playing, impress them! Best of luck!

The Isai Vizha commorating the 10th annivarsary NZ CMS went off beautifully with two full days of music by both local as well as overseas artists. Thank you to all of you for all the best wishes....we need more support like this and I am sure very soon we will be celeberating the 20th annivarsary, when we oldies will take the back seat and let the show be run by the youngsters, who performed beautifully in their allocated slots.

I will put up a more detailed report soon.

Thank you all once again for your support..............regards...............Sam
