The mudra "garbhapuri" was collectively used by by a quartette from karuvUr, namely ShrInivAsa, pedda dEvuDu venkaTasubbayya, cinna dEvuDu kr.shNayya, cinnasvAmayya and dakshiNAmUrti ShAstri; hnece the term "garbhapuri kIrtanAs" same title with which the Music Academy published their compositions.

I believe Jagajanani Sukhapani is a composition of MM Dandapani Desikar.chitrathiagarajan wrote:Thank you Lakshman sir.
This kriti has his mudra, garbapuri.
But Jagath Janani in rathipathi priya does not have it.A observation.
Is there a rendition of this kriti in bairavi which is said to be the original ragamof this kriti?

No, they are two different individuals. The former composed tamizh padams while the latter had a few varNams, kIrtanams (ShrI pArvati in ShrI a very popular one) and the tODi kamba rAmAyaNa tillAnA (because he skillfully tuned a verse from the famous tamizh work as the sAhitya of this piece).chitrathiagarajan wrote:Are Ganam Krishanaier and Kundrakudi Krishnaier one and the same composers'?

I think it's the contrary. In the past I attended a lecdem on gAnam kr.shNaiyyar's compositions by Dr. subhAshiNi pArthasArati who did her PhD thesis on padams & jAvaLis. She mentioned that jagajjanani was composed by gAnam kr.shNaiyyar and originally in bhairavi. ShrI daNDapANi dEShikar retuned the now-famous version in ratipatipriyA for the movie with the same name. You may also know that "cummA cummA varumO sukham" in aThANA is also a composition of kr.shNa aiyyar.chitrathiagarajan wrote:If ganam Krisgnaier composed only padams, then is the kriti jagatjanani
tuned in ragam ratipatipriya by Dandapani Desikar composed by Kundrakudy
Krishnaier? Please clarify. There are a lot of wrong information circulating about this famous kriti.
