*Backed by divine ambience and admiring audience(unmindful of squatting on the floor that needed an effot) VS was at her best in creating vibration while delivering emotive,bhava- laden ,well chosen ragas and kritis of a no. of composers with her firm voice & ever innovative technical excellence. (She is due to receive her Doctorate shortly,it was announced) In Varali she was in total authority.
*Lalgudi Vijayalakshmi responded very well .Her true stamp was evident especially in Vachaspathi,Bhagyasree&Darbar.VS ensured she be accorded chance to play all the ragas despite time constraint in the end.Ramdoss&Murali teamed up well in line with the Theme of the concert.
* I feel concerts could be more rasika- friendly without RTP for thematic programmes.

This was a terrific concert indeed - quite typical of VS! Delightful selection of ragas, compositions - and more importantly perhaps, an extremely sophisticated presentation with a perfectly sruthi - aligned voice that remains equally strong across the three octaves! I particularly enjoyed her swara-kalpana in Mohana, the neraval in Varali, the Vachaspati raga-alapana and the rest of the RTP! The accompanists - Vijayalakshmi, Ramadoss and Murali - supported VS superbly!
