I was listening to an excellent version of Sobillu Saptaswara by BMK (Rama Navami Bangalore 1960s).
In thinking about the beautiful and simple lyrics, I wondered if there was any reason ascribable to why Thyagaraja, the genius that he is, might have chosen Jaganmohini, a Ragam that does not have all the swarams to describe the music and the 7 swaras.
It might be as simple as that was what his creativity led him to on the day this beautiful song was conceived.
Are there any other hypothesis / insights?
Thanks

PS: I tried sending this yesterday; for some reason it did not get loaded.
My apologies if my post from yesterday found its way into one of the other folders and Rasikaites have already replied.
