The funcn was started exactly by 18 05 hrs. Following VIPs and artistes were present.

The organisation issues awards for deserving muscians and this year's receipients are OST and GSM.
The invocations song 'saraswathi chaya tharangini ' was sung by Ms Naveen grand dau of BVSS Mani. .

The organisation celebrates its 13th anniversary and every year gold medal and cash awards are given to deserving musicians.
This institution is self financed and not depending on anybody for funds. Few awardees are Mani krishnasamy, RVedavalli Bombay sisters ,TNS OSN, TRS, TVS, N.Ramani and Maharajapuram Ramachandran [to name few]

Shri BVSS Mani was an industrialist, philonthropist and a Vedic scholar. The speciality of this is, it is self financing supported by its own family members. The function is conducted in the same tradition since 13 yrs. The top ranking musician OST deserves this honour this year.
GSM also the recipient [of cash award of Rs 10000/=] this year is a multi dimensional muscian proficient in all southern languages besides a vaggeyakara composed nearly 200 compositions. Most varsatile and genius artiste deserves this award. Very worthy recipient. Brought up by his parents on noble tradition.

Such a wealthy family devoted to promotion of carnatic music used to help muscians in dire need also. The entire family is doing yemon service to CM
OST is like his younger brother. He can sing any song. He left his job and taken up music as profession boldly and he is now a top ranking artiste. HIs gurus are OVS [ his father] TMTand TRS. In music world , people used to say he should have consumed a thambura---athnai surudhi suddham.
GSM is one month younger to him and a close associate of himself. He is thorough with sangeetha shastra . He is a vaggeyakara besides an expert jyothisha nipuna. He is also an associate music director has done few films with Ilaya raja.. besides 8 indian languages he knows french and spanish too. An expert in chanting vedas too. On any subject from CM to computer he can talk continuously for 2 hrs.

He never misses any function organised by lalith kala vedica. OST and GSM are Nadha soththu. both have Apara nipunathvam. OST during his tenure as dean in Annamalai University, his services to CM were tremendous. GSM is known to him only as Mullipallam GS mani. well versed in sanskrit.
sruthi layam is a boon to both. Both have nadha layam and santha layam too. As per their words music shoud be seen and not to be heard. Music cannot be learnt by gurukulam but one should have interest to learn this art.
OST
He is thankful for the recognition done to him. Reg TMT He will take only 15 mints to teach a keerthanam. he was so thorough with songs such that he will ask to touch a page and select a song
Reg TRS his association is from his childhood as he was in delhi. He is an expert in ritigowla swaras.
Reg PSN he is really a sangeetha acharya.
GSM
He has to further qualify himself for future awards. Title of vaggeya kara from MA is because of his two books one in telugu and the other in sanskrit. sampradaya bajan book is yet to be published. OST's brothers are also good singers and the entire family is devoted to CM.
