Do Hindustani music too have raaga lakshana or grammers in their music system like all our jeeva swarams , amsa swarams graha swarams , vadi , samvadi . ???/

With usage of different gamakams I guess it becomes more distinguishable here. But how do they make it since not much gamakams are employed other than meend or sliding.

Say for example even PDNS between Shankarabharanam and Kalyani can be distinguishable when rightly employed though basically the same notes from Pa upwards. .... Do they have something akin to this.????

with no replies am I to understand that Hindustani is more of a free form playing or singing using the scale notes unlike in carnatic with different notes having different charecters within the scale???

Or should I understand that all are busy???/

or both perhaps?

I suggest a regular look up at the wonderful Parrikkars Website , which should be a big help.
