It is really unfortunate that there is no successor to Angamali K.J. Jose to play carnatic music in Dilruba. This instrument has a rich sonorous lingering resonance and is ideally suited for langorous ragas like charukesi. In olden days tamil cinema orchestra this instrument was invariably present .what a pity that no youngster has been inspired to take up this purely indian instrument which is suitable both for hindustani andcarnatic music. Ponbhairavi.
