I second ravi - one of the most under-rated artistes in the circuit today. Her voice can act up at times and is unlikely to please sruthi puritans but her verve and passion more than make up and her strength in laya does not hurt. I am a huge fan and really happy to hear that the prime slot is hers again...

she has sung in the main slot before, definitely once if not more. This is not her promotion concert.

she is sadly underrated by many people and she jolly well deserves to sing in the evening slot.

grsastrigal,nice observation.I am a great fan of Gayathri(veena) and am surprised to hear that she will not perform anywhere in season this year!Hope she is fine!

I am also a huge fan of Sangeetha Sivakumar for several years (ever since I listened to a recording of her concert at CFA). I have bought all of her commercial recordings and listen to them all the time. Love that nasal tone - pure chaste music flowing like honey. Listen to "Marvels of Melody" and a concert recording "Yaro Ivar Yaro".
