Today there was a concert at SFAS by TVS accompanied by Mysore Srikanth, R Ramesh and N Guruparasd. I heard from my parents that he sang Pranatoshmi - Nattai, O'Jagadamba Ananda Bhairavi, Samana Rahite (GNB) - Saranga Tarangini, Mevalla Gunadosha - kapi, Ma Janaki - Kambodhi, Punniyam Oru Koti - Kiravani, SavaranaGuruguhane - Kannada, Brindavan Saranga RTP - Sama and SindhuBhairavi RGM swaras , Virutham - followed by Krishna Nee Begane , Eppo Varuvaro and English Notes
Raga Kapi alapana was by his son Shankar Mahadevan. My mother said that his voice was at the best and it was sheer vintage in brighas and swaras and the sruti suddham is admirable at his age.
V Shankar, President SFAS, gave a speech parising TVS and TVS was emotional when he responded. It looks to be a great concert !
