Hi all,

I don't know if this has already been brought up, but the search feature on this site has not been working very well for me lately. Some threads I knew were on here I can no longer find. Just as a test I searched "tillana" and "thillana" and came up with only 4 or 5 threads each time (I know there is certainly more than just those).

Just me, or something a lot of members have been experiencing?

YES...I have asked the administrator to look into it. The search function seems to have broken down completely for some reason

Yes there is a problem. Thanks for bringing this to the admin's attention. Until the admin takes care of it, use the following technique as an alternative.

For example, In Google, type in a search term like "thillana site:rasikas.org" to get the posts in our forum with the word thillana in them. These days, new posts are indexed by Google in a day or two.

Seems to be tied to a 'date'. Older articles are'nt showing up. But a search on newer ones seems to come up.

There is a problem with the search indexes and I am not able to resolve it yet. Request everyone's patience. Sorry for the trouble.

Am logging in after some time...has the intro page been removed? I get the following error msg when I try for http://www.rasikas.org/intro.php :
"The constant FORUM_ROOT must be defined and point to a valid FluxBB installation root directory."

The look and feel of the forum has changed recently, yes?

Yes the forum has been upgraded to a newer version. Some of the pages like intro-page, calendar etc are not functioning currently since they have to be modified to suit the new version.

Chembai,

Some issues with the new 'fix':

1) The search function is still not fully operational. Some pages (in the forums - not just the intro page) are failing to load. Even VK's suggestion of using google doesn't work because some of the pages that the search pulls up fail to load.
2) Another issue is that none of the scripts, other than english, are loading.

I am able to use the search function without issues. Can you give an example where search fails to retreive a particular page's content that is present on the forum?

Regarding the non-english scripts, it is likely an issue with the unicode character sets, I will look into it right away.

Has the font size changed? It has become microscopic...

Chembai, if you search for mukhAri in the rAga and AlApana forum, a list comes up. If you click on the thread named 'mukhAri', page 1/2 displays 25 of 35 posts, and if you click on the second page this is what comes up:

Not only that, yesterday while I was trying to make some modifications in my post No.58, AMS Easy-Methods-2007"¦"¦. of the main thread ‘Sangeeta Kalalaya’ I was getting the following
"An error was encountered

The error occurred on line 150 in /home/content/c/a/r/carnatic/html/forum/include/search_idx.php
Database reported: Duplicate entry 'ââ‚Ëœinstinctive-layaâ' for key 1 (Errno: 1062)."

There are a lot of issues, the key is patience. I am waiting for a new release to get out and hopefully then I can work on any remaining bugs.

OK. Then you want me to become patient. Thank you.
