After a long time did the rasikas of Hyderabad got to hear such wonderful music.Vedavalli Amma is very much known for her Traditional style of singing and this was the first time that I got to hear her.It was a real bliss.Sangeetha Kalanidhis are Sangeetha Kalanidhis,they are always the best.
She commenced with Vinjamuri Varadaraja iyengar’s Ghanaraga panchaka varnam in Nata,Gowla,Arabhi,Varali and Sri. The swarakalpana at Charanam line was amazing.She sang all the five ragas but always landed back in Varali which was astonishing. Rudrapriya composition of dikshitar was a wonderful rendition invocation on Lord vinayaka. Then came Vachaspathi,The neraval and Swarakalpana deserve a special mention.Then came the wonderful Margahindolam Composition of Thyagaraja.The feel with which she sang the song made me feel that this was the best rendition ever heard by me.Panthuvarali was superb. The famous Thyagaraja composition "Ninnu nera namminanu ra " came up next.The neraval and swarakalpana at Veda sastra puranadhi was spellbound. The emotions flowing out of the song "brovavamma tamasamele"
