Under sections * Featured Carnatic Concerts* item no. 19 on the listed index to the left side, sung by Sri Maharajapuram S Ramachandran, posted July 13, 08 (song no.10).
The song is " gOvindA ninna nAmavE candA " of Purandara Das. The song is sung by sri. M.Ramachandran in the Rag Shiva Kalyani. Eventhough this rag is named differently, it sounds more or less same to ragam " Janasmmodini " of 28th mela HK.
Rasikas views on this is welcome. I give below the lyrics for the benit of those who may need it, after listening to this song!!!

Random search revealed this: http://www.musicindiaonline.com/p/x/yqX ... As1NMvHdW/ ( rag shivkalyan by Ustad Amjad Ali Khan ).
Here is the direct link to the Sri. Ramachandran song that hariharan mentioned: http://www.sangeethapriya.org/Downloads ... alyani.mp3
I have not listened to either one yet to know if they are the same raga. Sorry to have brought the AAK one if they are completely unrelated.

Thanks to Vasanthakokilam for posting the link of Ustad Amjad Alikhan.
Really a thrilling dhun in this rag. The notes that come for this Shivakalyan dhun are SRGPDNS - SNDPGRS of the Kamaj That. May be the name of the raga is made to pronounce " shivakalyani" . I feel the song "gOvindA ninna nAmave candA" is also Rag Shivkalyan, as it is mostly similar to the one that played by AAK .
After hearing your link, I am of the views that rag Janasammodini and Rag Shivkalyan/shivkalyani are not the same. The change is apparent in the Rishabha note being used freely in the arohana sancharas too.
Views/corrections are welcome
