Some of these rAgAs seem very contrived in their fit...but here goes.
ANDu - year
puttu = new
iSaittu ODi - iSaittODi
vaNNa migum ANDu
cindu - poem (sindhu(bhairavi)
The new year (puttANDu) arrives (varum) skipping (ODi) along making (ISaittu) good music (paNN); spreading (vISiDum) brilliance (tannoLi). A year (ANDu) that is sure to be filled with lots (migum) of color (vaNNa).
It is an attractive (SingAra) new year that comes singing (pADi) poems (cindu) to ensure that love (nESamAm) and desire (pASamAm) flourish (tazhaittiDa) all across (ellAm) the country (dESam).
It is the new year that comes so very attractively (mOhamAi) [1] so that grief (SOkamellAm) can disappear (maraindu) and spring (vasantam) spreads (vISavE) everywhere.
It is the calm (SAntamAna), beautiful (sundara), divine (SrI) and auspicious (mangaLa) new year that comes like a sovereign (bhUpALamAi) to destroy (ozhiya) any and all forms of fraud/deceit/cruelty/violence (vanjam vaNNam).
