Would you mind recording some part of RK Shriram Kumar's presentation and putting it on Youtube so that we can also listen and enjoy?

In addition to the programmes already listed,
On the 9th of november, at 12 noon (or after the lec-dem is over) there will be a screening of a video on 'Dikshitar and Devi' which was made by Smt. Rupa Gopal.

As a policy, the music club does not record and/or preseve any of its programmes. If the artists/sponsors request for recordings, they are made and handed over to them with appropriate permissions. and hence i dont have a say about recording these programmes. if they are recorded and if the artists are not against public distribution, it will be done. else, i cannot do such a thing.

personally, i dont think i can do a recording, for want of the required gadgets...

I think Bharat's report (if he does cover RKS's presentation) will be exhaustive as it has always been in the past and a pleasure to read :)

i certainly am planning to attend these programmes. however, i m not assuring immediate write-ups of them. i already have a programme or two overdue to be documented and these two will be added to the waiting list. in a while, yes, they will all be put in black and white.

I missed Smt. Nanditha's program but was able to attend RK Shreeram Kumar's. It was a very good program, much more enjoyable than your regular kutcheri. Shreeram Kumar highlighted the significance of MD's music touching on lyrical/poetic, svarAkshara, sthalapurANa and philosophic/esoteric aspects. He could have easily gone on for another hour or two without making the audience restive.

Thanks to IIT-M musicclubbers for organizing this event!
