I reached a good 10 minutes late so I'm not sure of the krithis sung before the bahudari piece. Since no one has posted a review yet, I'm venturing with a review.

What a wonderful concert it was ! We entered when Sowmya was starting the bahudari ragam. It was a leisurely rendered raga with a good buildup. Embar Kannan's rendition of the ragam was also very good. The krithi of GNB, followed in a brisk pace with neraval and swara prastharams. The manji krithi of Shyama Shastri was next.

What followed next left me spellbound. The ravichandrika krithi had such wonderfully creative and fast-paced swaras. Its really difficult to put it across in words. Sowmya's swaras and Kannan's responses - it almost felt like we were watching fireworks in the Sydney harbour on New Year's eve ! For a while I was almost scared if one of them would miss the eduppu but what finesse ! Kudos to Kannan and Sowmya !

A slightly brief alapana of thodi came next, almost with the expected sangathis. Raju vedala followed with neraval.

Then Sowmya went on with an excellent Gowri Manohari raga alapana - short and sweet. The tanam was superb. The pallavi was "Gowri manohara karunakara shankara". The pallavi was shorter than what I expected. She concluded with ragamalika swaras. I had to step out briefly with my daughter so am not sure what were the ragas she sang in. I heard Kamalamanohari, so I guess it must have been a set of *manohari ragas.

Neyveli Narayanan accompanied very well. The tani was rounded off well.

A devaranama "Bagilenu Theradu" in Revathi was next. One appreciable aspect in this was the excellent pronunciation of the words of the krithi. A behag javali and mandari thillana concluded the concert.

Overall an excellent evening of memorable music. Embar Kannan truly excelled in this concert with his fine non-intrusive accompaniment.

Was the recording done with the consent of either the artistes or the organizers (Gayana Samaja)? Was the uploader courteous enough to get the permission of the concerned artiste before uploading? I think the answer is no to both questions.
