Interesting to see this set to shankarabharana.

I have CD brought out by Ananya, Bangalore wherein Ranjani Hebbar has beautifully rendered this in manirangu.

I need to look into some of the words shown in Lakshmanji's version above.

I have attempted below to transliterate the sAhitya that I hear when I listen to Ranjani Hebbar's rendition on the CD I have mentioned earlier.

It is very different from the sAhitya Lakshmanji has posted above.

As far attempting to summarize the meaning, I found it very challenging - not the usual straightforward, yet profound PurundaradAsa sAhitya here! I could do a word to word meaning but that would fail to give us the depth of this song. It looks very metaphysical, if I can say that.

This is what I hear:

ikO namma svAmi jagadantaryAmi

oLage nODi namma hoLeyuva parabrahma
ariya bEkO marma tiLiya bEkO dharma

vastuvina nODi samasta manana mADi
arthavanu bEDi samasta nityagUDi

mADu guru dhyAna kettu hOguvadEnu
muddu lakshmI purundara viTalEshana dhyAna

I am not very sure about the penultimate line (mADu guru dhyAna .........). I had to repeatdly listen to the record to make sure it sounds like what I have written above, especially the words mADu guru (first I heard mADuvaru) and kettu hOguvadEnu ( first I heard kettu hOguva dEha).

I hope this helps! Perhaps Ramakriya or Dr. Shrikaanth Murthy might be able to help further.

I listened to a DKP-school rendering, and it is Lakshman's lyrics that are used (in Manirangu).

In the DKP school rendering, C1 is sung as an anupallavi, and C2/C3 are combined to form a charaNam. Beautiful renderings are available from DKP Amma and Sri N Vijay Siva.
