Deepika...a novice singer !!

I don't know if any of our forumites have had the chance to listen to this youngster...Recently I had been to Deepika's concert at Bharat Kalachar on the 5th of this month.

I guess she is a disciple of Sudha Ragunathan and was accompanied by Karaikal Venkatasubramaniam on the violin and A.V.Manikantan on the Mridangam.

The Kalpanaswarams for Sinduramakriya ("Sudha Madhurya Bhashana) was worth mentioning !
I should say she gave a neat presentation of the ragams Shivashakthi and Kalyani.
The virutham in Chandrajyothi was also good.

Deepika sang a song "Kuni Kuniyo Krishna" and said that its tune was composed by Sudha Ragunathan and Deepika's uncle Embar kannan (violinist) !

isnt she one of the little girls who starred in the K Balachander serial- "kai alavu manasu" ??? some 10- 12 years ago???

Yeah Srinandini ...I think you are right...even i can recollect that teleserial....I guess she z the one who used to sing classical songs in that serial !!
