Another stellar performance by Sanjay!!! The topic chosen by Sanjay was compositions of Dandapani Desikar and there were a few songs that were tuned by DD also. The details are:
Vocal: Sanjay Subrahmanyan
Violin: S Varadarajan
Mridangam: Neyveli Venkatesh
Song list:
1. Vaazhdhiduvom Vareer - Arabhi
2. Adiyenai Kaatharulvaai - Kamboji
3. Paada Vendumey - Hamsanaadham
4. Kadavulai Maravaadhey - Tandavam
5. Naavukkarasi Gnanakk-kozhundhai - Hemavathi
6. Viruttam in Sahana (Nice one) followed by Oho Kalame - Sahana
7. Thunbham Nergayil - Desh
8. Narayananai Thuttipai - Komalangi
Out of this 6 is by Vedanayakam Pillai, 7 is by Bharathidasan.
For me the highlight certainly was Hemavathi, Hamsanadham, Desh and Sahana in that order. Sanjay alone has the ability to take any topic and turn the concert into a masterpiece, sheerly thro' his vidwat and the way he delivers. He is not constained by the fact that the krithis may be unheard off.
Hats off to the master for making it a memorable evening.

Cannot imagine how nice this concert must have been! As well as Sowmya's Jaya TV concert.
I guess the next month for me is going to be depressing, reading thru all the wonderful concerts I'm missing, while I'm slogging for some random projects hoping it will make a difference in the economy ! Hmmmm..

Is nArAyaNanait tudippAi Desikar's composition? I do not find it in our Lakshman's list of his compositions.
Some corrections in the song list words:
aDiyEnaik kAttiDuvAi
pADa vENDumE iSaip pAvin poruLai
kaDavuLai maRavAdE nannenjE
nAvukkaraSE
vAzhndiDuvOm vArIr or vAzhtiDuvOM?
I suppose deepsand will help us with this.

It is "Vaazhn-dhiduvom-vareer" - Arabhi.
Ram you are correct. The last song "Narayananai..." is composed by rAghava rAmAnuja dAsar.
Sanjay has explained in his blog entry as to how he chose DD as the topic this year. It is indeed DDs centenary year and Sanjay has paid a true tribute. The last 3 songs in the song list has been tuned by DD.
The film "Nandanaar" is a classic of DD and the movie remains very fresh even in today's time. I recently bought a CD of the film and really enjoyed watching the movie. Ofcourse DD has rendered some golden songs in the film, including "Pittam Teliya", "Varugalamo", "Ayye Methakadinam", "Ennappan Allava..".
Coming to the Q&A session in the Sanjay concert, as usual his responses were "true Sanjay" style for some heavy-duty questions. He had a take on Lec-Dem sessions during concerts and said that he preferred only to sing and if someone wanted to chat they are very much welcome to his house

There was a question about no Carnatic music w/o bhakthi, for which he said referring to a dialogue from "Mug...Tuglaq" movie (Cho movie), that he would leave it to the next days artiste.
There was also a Q on too much media hype in todays world and he took a dig at people using or getting unnneccessary media exposure (?).
