" When I left in the third song alapana, few of the elderly people (seems to be TNS fans) were all cribbing about the concert, "en ippadi katharar theriyalai".
Thus wrote a rasika about the TNS concert for Karthick Fine Arts in the thread on the TNS concert.
The same sentiments were echoed last evening after Aruna Sayeeram's concert. Being a large crowd of Maamis, one Mami was overheard telling another, "adutha varshum konjum panchu (cotton) eduthundu varen" Sattham Sahikale"
A full hall heard this "concert" where there was so much noise but absolutely no melody.

I think the mami that you are referring to, seems to have a lot of patience - to go for her next year concert with cotton to cover her ear drums from being affected from the noise pollution.
Extremely a hyped musician

Hi,
Sometime the audio systems are not working in our sabhas. They go up in the decibal level without any adjustment. If the audio turns out good, i get a big relief. So let us not blame the artist, as rasikas are also part of the concert , we can tell the artist to arrange to reduce and artist can signal the system guys. Sometime the violin sounds louder and sometime the rhythm. There are so many problems in the sound systems in our sabhas and our vidwans take less time to stablise the reception levels. I always think of comparing our railway system with this as we tend to keep increasing the trains with every budget and not for the safety and technology of the tracks/bridges etc over which the trains run.
And let us not create a thread to bash the artist. I was happy to come hear and see what she has sung and was disappointed.
