I unfortunately had to leave at this point. What a concert! Sri RKS's deep voice and its range (even at his age) was just amazing. His alapanas seemed devoid of any cliched phrases, his anandabhairavi alapana especially was beautiful. The setting of the poorvikalyani krithi was a little different from the versions I have heard before, the words seemed to fall a bit off from the usual spots, but it gave the krithi a majestic gait and his rendition is still ringing in my mind. His son supported him well (though at points he had some sruthi lapses). Sri M.A.Sundaresan played with a lot of sensitivity and he enhanced the appeal of the concert. On the whole, a highly refined concert which was just a pleasure to listen to.
