Thx vkailasam for the comments. My poetic days are over. I had composed over 1000 poems (all in English

in my hay days. Now I enjoy reading those of others and encouraging the talents. PB's case is in point. Yet another is our Arasi who has the vaggeyakara gene and who can bring new life into CM through her scintilating compositions. Just as Bharathi electrified Tamilians through his patriotic compositions I do believe that new life to CM should be instilled with compositions on modern themes. Unfortunately our conservative performers still look back rather than look forward. Still I have high hopes with our budding youngsters...

As regards arasi, she had made a name for herself already to some extent in music circles. I have read a few of her compositions .
Unfortunately to my mind she had made her circle limited. I tried to get her concerts from net, but , I think they are not available except one at You Tube at a dance performance. My feeling is that her songs has to be freely available to anybody who seeks.
Any way, she will take care of it.
Can you think of bringing out your compositions in a book form by taking the help of a publisher?

I never published in a book form. I have Complete Gita in Blank verse which I tried to publish through the Asian Division at New York. They said there is no market for it and I abandoned further efforts since I have been in NA most of my life. No point in posting my english verses here since it has no relevance to CM!

I am posting a song composed by me some 15 years back; one of the many when I was in an 'inspired mood'.
The real inspiration was a song in the same raga by my revered guru Shri P.KRajagopala Iyer.
The rAgam is easy to guess.
In the chiTTaiswaram, the '_' denotes mantra sthAyi; the 3rd and 4th lines contain swars in the tArasthAyi; but I do not know how to denote it.

Excellent Punarvasu!
The dhaivata rishabha varjyam gives the clue as suddha dhanyasi at the first blush. But you could have sneaked in a rare raga too

Where have you been hiding these compositions. Bring them out and share the audio too among us!
Join the ranks of Arasi as the 'Rasika' vaggeyakara of renown!

This composition nicely adapts and musicalizes the wellknown ganapati stotra:
'mUShika vAhana mOdaka hasta
cAmara karNa viLambita sUtra
vAmana rUpa maheshvara putra
vigna vinAyaka pAhi namastE'
Which can used as the viruttam to start off!

Being Ganapati I thought GambiraNATTai is a good fit with गम्भीर नाट्य in the lyrics; but the charasteristic phrases like pmggmpmgG are not there and hence settled for suddhadhanyasi. But Amritavarshani is just lovely...

I will also try later... I am surprised why our members who have kids getting trained in CM are not encouraging them to try new songs using their raga knowledge which will stimulate interest and competition among the kids. Don't be shy; we are all friends after all...
