Yes..such programs are almost non-existent abroad. We NRI's rely on people uploading such material online.suma wrote:Could someone put these on youtube and give us the links so that NRI's can also watch.
The lovely members who used to upload jaya tv vidoes on youtube have seemed to stop with this years cleveland and sydney aradhanas.
Do jaya tv have a system where you can get pay-per view online to watch musical videos

Rasika911, it is not as far fetched as you think. www.numtv.com used to provide live and archived streaming of Jaya TV programs and they had various plans including a walk-in user type plan where you pay a few dollars and watch all you want for like 48 hours. I could not even go to that site today. I do not know what happened to them.

There is also http://www.channellive.tv who sell a set top box also (connects via internet). I have heard that it works well from a few friends.

You can use adapters like DWL-G820 Wireless Gaming Adapter to make any Ethernet-enabled device, such as a media set-top box, wireless.vasanthakokilam wrote:numtv site is accessible today. So they are still alive and kicking. Thanks Arun for the ino on channel live, looks interesting ( wish their set top box provided wireless internet connectivity )

i agree that the programme on podhigai on melakartha ragas is marvllous. particularly this week the way Smt.Suguana varadachari explained Raga GANAMOORTHE , though the raga has straight notes ,how it is to be articulated while singing raga.the whole team is a wonderful selection.each and every artist in the team is an exponent .Special mention is to be made of SRI.SANTHANA GOPALAN SIR
Every student of music will benefit a lot once they they apply their in listening to this programme regularly .

todays Podigai programme on Melakartha ragas was on the ragas Senavathy & Hanumathodi.now clearly Santhana Gopalan Sir explained both the ragas with their nuances& showed them by demonstrating .when u catch all the Swaras of thodi straight without any gamakam it is SIndubhairavi which is a very very major raga in Hindustani .Time & again i will only say musically interested youngsters should listen to these programmes

In todays programme Sri.NSG took the ragas gaurimanohari and varunapriya and he sang a kriti of garbhapurivasar Brovasamaya in gaurimanohari. He said how both the kritis guruleka and brovasamaya start in panchama. The demonstration of varunapriya was superb. He sang a kriti of Suddhananda bharathi " Karunaimukil garjithida varunapriye varugave "and said how he invites rain god in the above raaga. Saint Tyagaraja named this raaga as Veeravasatham and composed the kriti Emani pogadutura was what he said.On the whole it was a very nice half an hour. The veena accompaniment for this programme is a good choice as the swaras and gamakas are played perfectly.

Yes malavi, it was a very wonderful presentation;very educative and Shri NSG makes it so intersting;as you said ,the veena accompaniment is a good choice.
Whoever thought of making this programme, has really done a wonderful service to carnatic music and to the CM students and rasikas. May their tribe increas so that we get to see more such interesting/educative programmes.
