Hello everyone,

I am looking out for the lyrics of the Marathi Abhang 'Saavalen Sundar Roop Manohar'.

I got it from a Marathi site but the words of the same abhang as sung by Bhimsen Joshi seem to be a bit different in the last 2 to 3 lines.

It will be helpful if anyone can provide me with the exact wordings and the meaning of the Marathi abhang ' Saavalen Sundar Roop Manohar' in English.

Regards,

Nandy.

Hello Meena,

Thank you so much.

The words seem right now.

Do you by chance know the entire meaning of the song?

I understand certain lines, but not the whole song.

Thanks once again.

Regards,

Nandy.

the 'm' at the end is a biMdu - and goes as a anusvAra and not an explicit 'm' sound

Meaning : as for as I understand :o

1. Oh dark, handsome, mind stealer
stay in my heart constantly

2. (I) do not have any other desire (??)
your name is sweet, oh white one!

3. --
---

4. tuka says so ...(don't understand the rest of it)

No. As I said the 'M' is not an explicit ma kAra - AFAIK, in this context kAhi equates to yAvudU (Kannada), edAvudum
The summary should be something as below.

EnU bEre bayase O pAnduranga
ninna nAmavadenitu madhura
