Navarathri Concert with focus on devi

Kanchadalayatakshi set the mood with some swarams. Kamalamba Navavarnam in Anandabhairavi showed vijayalakshmys scholarship. What followed was a real treat. The concert was very well planned and executed. With such a wonderful voice and the song selection transports you to a higher plain.
A very nice beginning to navarathri.

Saramati was really exotic with the sarasa dala netri. This song just moved me.

I was there at this concert for sometime until she sang the song karpakambikai, it was a thoroughly enjoyable fare. the songs kamalambam and sarasadala were superb. her voice was very mellifluous too. look forward to hearing more of vijayalakshmi's concerts, if i get to know of them.

Her Bhajan, I understand, was in Sohini(equivalent of Hamsanandi).True to her sincere, innovative& unique approach(giving true justice to Hindusthani style as well) she was embellishing with a couple of Hindusthani alap type embedded swara passages in different tempos .
The concert in the venue is better heard from outside ,would have been better if devotees were asked to go via left sidedoor corridor( behind stage)for dharshan to reduce noise level .
