Grahabhedam

I am interested in finding out more on the topic of grahabhedam. What are the rules, if any, on which ragams can be linked? Is the transformation done mostly by substituting Panchamam of the current ragam by the Shadjam of the target ragam? Or are there other nuances to this?

MLV was a past-master at this. Which other artistes have you heard doing grahabhedam? If you have recordings of grahabhedam in action, do share!
