It was a 2 and half hour concert started late by half hour

I felt the concert picked up only after he started Meenakshi Mumudam.
Also singing swarams for all songs was a big nono for me.

I would have wished he did some neraval for the songs 3 and 4

Meenakshi memudam was sung with good feeling and bhavam and I started enjoying the concert only from this song.
Infact I was planning to leave after this but he started Sarasa saama dhaana and the concert came to life

For me the post main was the good part of concert

RTP was good in parts and I felt he faltered in anandhabhairavi pallavi a bit. (It is my name you see !)
He probably took a cue from Smt Nithyashree yesterday and it was nice that he ended the swarams of Neelambari,Sindhubhairavi and ranjani by singing out the name of the ragas at the end.

Sarasa saama dhaana ,ennasolli, neeirangayenil,Venkatachalanilayam and Pibare rama rasam were all sung with good emotions and feelings

Gopinath on violin was much better today than what I had heard of him previously .
Mannarkoil Balaji was professional with beautiful thani.I am not expert in commenting on his nadai so he will I guess add up to this post.

I felt singing karna ranjani and janaranjani back to back was strange .May be I am wrong if I made a mistake in the identification of raga.
Balaji sir will be more capable to correct if I am wrong.

On the whole I enjoyed post main part of concert much better than the one before main.

The kriti in Karna Ranjani was "Vanchathonu" and the kriti in Janaranjani was "pAhimAm Sri rAjarAjeshwari".

Probably Balaji sir thought that both are ranjani janyams and hence the statement. Is that so Balaji sir?I also thought the same.

Whether it is Ranjani who sings it or any other performer, a sriranjani can be a karNaranjani, and also turn out to be a janaranjani in a concert :)
Don't pay any attention to me.
Anandabharavi will explain it all to carnaticdasan!

It can turn out to be a 'karNabhanjani' if not sung properly.

As long as, it is not karnakadooram,if it is janaranjagam, let us not bother.Probably both the songs could have been choice of rasikas. gobilalitha
